Days: October 8th, 15th, 22rd, and 29th (Wednesdays)
Time: 12 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. PDT
 
The workshop will include:
Weekly Zoom meetings** where we will draw, collage, and look at art together.
All meetings will be recorded.
Suggested homework to work on during each week.
Padlet board where all the participants can communicate, share work, thoughts, and ask questions between our Zoom meetings.
 
In this 4-week course, we will create painted paper collages from observation, memory, and masterworks. By the end, each participant will complete a series of original collages and drawings while building a stronger sense of color and composition.
Instead of following strict theory, the class encourages trusting your eye and intuition. We’ll work with colors we enjoy, draw daily, and compose with simple shapes.
This workshop is open to all levels and is rooted in the instructor’s personal studio practice. Students will leave with finished work and practical ideas for sustaining a daily creative habit.
 
Supply List:
• copy paper (regular paper for printers)
• A soft pencil (4B – 8B will work) or a pen.
• Scissors
• Glue (acrylic medium, PVA, or a simple glue stick will work)
• Gouache or acrylic paint. A variety of colors: some yellow, red, blue, green, white, and black. Any additional colors are good. Anything as simple as HIMI gouache set with an additional tube of white paint will work.
• Bristol paper as a base of collage (anything of the size 4x6 or larger will work, cardstock or watercolor paper can be used too).
• One brush #8 or #10, soft, round. Anything as simple as Blick Scholastic Wonder White will work.
• Water container
• Paper towels
• Paper plates with coating or a palette for mixing colors (a reusable pallet or pallet paper pad will work too)
